Band Shirt Design

I designed three new t-shirts for the Salem, MA band Petal Dance. They were each inspired by unique parts of the band. The clown shirt is a reference to the song off the EP "Spellbook" titled "payazzzo." Payaso is Spanish for "The Clown." The Japanese shirt pays a subtle homage to Pokémon. The flower-like sketch design is inspired by the leaves of the Generation 2 grass/poison type Pokémon Vileplume. The Japanese characters translate to "Petal Dance," the grass-type move that inspired the band's name. Out of all the members of the band, Pat Lally is a fan favorite and who the band deemed best to be on a shirt. The original photo was taken by @mattpicture03 on Instagram, who gave me permission to tweak and edit the image however I liked. I ended on a black-and-white negative edited image. The band requested the font to be Old-English, wanting the shirt to be inspired by other popular band shirts. The lyrics "it never happened" appear on "nvr hav i evr," a track off of the EP "Spellbook"
